- Our Story -
Our story began 15 years ago, when we rescued our first Aussie named Dixie. She was five years old and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Unfortunately, she had not been socialized correctly and was quite fearful of being inside; I had no idea how to help her. She was so sweet and smart and I often think to myself "if only I had known then what I know now." As fate would have it, I ran across a website of a breeder in Southern California who bred Aussies. I messaged her about a possible puppy (I wanted a blue merle, blue eyed girl). She nicely laughed and said "get in line". A few short days later, she called me and a puppy buyer had dropped her deposit and wondered if I was interested. Zip- 13).
Zip came to us and I vowed to do everything just right so that she was properly socialized, and would make sure so was going to be amazing and truly be representative of this incredible breed. Zip truly is a Gift from God, and she is the reason I will have no other breed of dog. It is then my passion for Aussies began!!! I felt compelled to help others find the value of picking a dog that fits their lives and families, and the value of appropriate training and socialization and to help others see how, these dogs would forever change lives. So nearly ten years ago, I began living my true passion as a then I began breeding Australian Shepherds.
I wanted to breed beautiful, healthy and sound minded puppies that would go out into the world and forever change each new family. 9 years ago , I had the honor of whelping my first litter for my friend. Fast forward to now, I have fallen in love with breeding and raising these beautiful, highly intelligent dogs. Aussies have a way of coming into your heart, and forever changing your heart with their intelligence, loyalty and beauty. I love my families updating me on how amazing the puppies are and the fun life they are living. We provide a life line to our families and offer help with grooming, and training too.
Here at Truehope Aussies, we have titled our dogs in conformation, obedience, Therapy, rally and CGC, ADV CGC, Trick Dogs, and even Home Manners, We love the unique abilities of each of our dogs.
A fun fact about us is that we have horses, and team rope, and in between litters, I am out riding our horses, doing yard work, exercising and we love to travel to see our son and the beach is my favorite place for recuperating from life.
