How it all startedMy very first Australian Shepherd was a rescue, and she gave me a small glimpse of what Aussies are like. We adopted Dixie at age 5. Dixie had some interesting issues since she was not socialized correctly. She was afraid of being inside the house and I didn't;t know how to help her. I began researching training and aussies and eventually, our second Australian Shepherd Zip came along: a Blue-Eyed, Blue Merle girl, it truly was a God thing as randomly I was searching the internet, and came across a website that pulled me in. Susi is a believer and we hit it off and I asked her if she had any Blue girls with blue eyes and she laughed and told me to get in line.
With a change of plans of another family, Zip became ours. Zip is a true example of what an aussie should be. She is where my passion for Aussies really began! Zip was shown in altered conformation, rally, obedience and my son showed her to the top at State and County fairs. Zip truly has shown me the intelligence and loyalty that an Aussie offers. So this is how our story started, a rescue turned into a mission always full of love, and passion! It is our pleasure to share the gift of Aussies to all who decide to join our TrueHope Family! |
